The possibility of an ‘Air Bridge’ between the UK and other countries where the coronavirus outbreak is well under control could be implemented to allow tourism to restart.Īlthough there have been reports that the government is still undecided about the idea, it’s one step that could offer a lifeline to those of us who are still hoping to get some kind of summer getaway abroad.īut what is an ‘Air Bridge’, and what does this mean for our summer holidays abroad? We have answered your questions… What is an ‘Air Bridge’?Īn ‘Air Bridge’ is a proposed scheme that would allow UK travellers to travel between popular European countries that have a low or manageable coronavirus infection rates.Ĭountries in Europe are currently making visitors isolate for 14-days upon their arrival and the UK plans to introduce a similar strategy as well. I hope this isn’t my last ever review.Britons have been given a glimmer of hope as a plan which could allow holidays abroad to resume has been backed by the government’s Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps. If you do one clever thing in your life, don’t book with this company. The driver is just denying any culpability, but has offered to drive us back in an obviously unsuitable vehicle which none of us (we didn’t know each other before this) will re enter. No bus has been sent, the office are being secretive about when and if we are being picked up. So here it is, as I write this review I am trapped at the West Rim Grand Canyon park office with 13 stranded people. The driver was contacted by the office in a conversation that we could all hear three times because they knew there was a problem but ignored his duty of care and said he would carry on even though it was obvious to everybody that something was wrong. The driver strangely enough was actually quite vague on what our schedule was. We were at least an hour late on our schedule. We were actually overtaken by the original coach. The coach wouldn’t go over 20mph on gradients and was obviously not fit for purpose. It turns out they were overbooked and after we had signed up they offered the same up grade for half the price to the next people. Prior to that they asked if we wanted to upgrade to a smaller coach, and get back quicker. Your thoughts on my situation and your sharp practices would be interesting to hear. I am still trapped at The Grand Canyon West Rim. ![]() You cannot fit all this on one tour and I wouldn’t recommend it because cancelled rides seems to happen a lot as our guide told us afterwards but they are happy to take our money. Not only did we not have our helicopter ride, we didn’t get to see much of the canyon due to queuing and waiting for the helicopter. We paid £400 for this tour and it said we would have most of the day there and we didn’t. She was very rude and didn’t seem to care. Then she took us all outside and told us she had cancelled our ride. We waited over an hour and she kept saying we were next. We also missed our lunch due to lack of time. This then only gave us time to queue for the skywalk and see eagle point and we completely missed Gauno point because we had no time before 12.30. The female member of staff said there was a delay and go back at 12.30. We were the only ones in there at this point. ![]() We arrived at 10.30am, checked in and watched the safety video. However when we arrived the bus guide had already said the staff would say there was a delay. We booked this tour with the sky walk and helicopter ride. In closing, I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. It’s a very nicely milled slide, with a lot of interesting and complex precision cuts. The slide assembly of the LTD19 almost looks too pretty to shoot….almost. As with Glocks, longer magazines with greater capacity (including the 33-round fun stick) will work just fine. Speaking of magazines, the LTD19 v2 arrived with one 15-round Glock 9mm magazine. A very nice touch is the inclusion of deep side bevels in the magwell for manual magazine extraction if necessary. The trigger guard is nicely undercut for a high grip, and the flared magwell makes for easy speed reloads. This is one area I might enhance if I owned the pistol – but that’s an easy upgrade. In addition to “correcting” the angle of the grip, Lone Wolf has omitted the finger grooves on the front and added a nice combination of raised squares and ridges for friction. Any conversation I’ve had with people who “just don’t like Glocks” almost always boils down to “it’s that grip angle”. The angle of the grip is much more 1911-like than Glock-like, something that all but the most faithful to the Austrian company will likely rejoice. Most Glock Gen3 parts should drop right in. Nor should they be, arguably – after all, why copy a design and change the parts that work best?! The trigger group, locking block, slide lock/takedown mechanisms – all exactly as expected. Clearly, to function with the gun’s design there are certain specs that just can’t be changed. A high-quality polymer molded unit that is simultaneously Glock-like and completely re-invented. ![]() ![]() ![]() While there’s of course enough pie to go around (sorry, had to be done), the big guys were vulnerable to a fresh, bold approach.Īll of this effort would have been wasted without a healthy dose of creativity. After the Wetzels recognized a market gap due to their curiosity, the Blaze gang needed to demonstrate a tremendous showing of courage to take on the behemoths in the pizza industry. We’re all so entrenched in our day-to-day that if you can pause to identify something the rest of us have missed, you can discover your entry point of opportunity. Constantly being curious and questioning your surroundings is paramount to entrepreneurship. The founders of Blaze broke through the road block by being unwilling to accept traditional constraints (not being able to cook pizza fast enough). The breakthrough – thin crust pizzas baked in a special-built, extremely hot oven (900+ degrees, 60,000 BTUs) that brings the concoction to life in only three minutes. The trick was to apply Nascar-fast speed to an item that typically needs to be baked for 12-40 minutes. The Wetzels were inspired by the notion that there wasn’t a Subway or Chipotle of pizza. What’s so incredible about Blaze’s rise is that it’s a simple blend of curiosity, courage, and creativity. As you work your way down the assembly line, staff assists at each step when you get to the end of the line, your custom-built pizza is cooked in a stone-hearth oven… in record time. Blaze allows you to customize your pizza, with choices ranging from cheese to proteins, from vegetables to sauces. This is of course good news for the founding team, but it’s even better news for us as consumers. Today, the chain is opening a store approximately every five days, while experiencing tremendous breakaway revenue growth. ![]() This duo partnered with a renowned pizza chef, Bradford Kent, and made it happen. ![]() Ultimately, they decided to start their own chain to fill this void, and Blaze Pizza was born. In a big-chain culinary world of fast customization everywhere else, the Wetzels salivated at the opportunity. The “in between” was readily available ground for the taking. Pizza places were either fast and rigid (the Little Ceasar’s $5.00 hot-and-ready pizza with no customization) or personalized and slow (order ahead or sit down restaurants). However, when Rick and Elise Wetzel (who founded Wetzel’s pretzels) looked for a similar concept in the world of pizza, they struck out. Mongolian barbeque locations have popped up to take your stir fry bowl to the next level even frozen yogurt gets to be done your way these days. This trend of personalization meetings speed meets value has taken the food industry by storm, spreading beyond the sub bun and into salads, with such names as SweetGreen and Chopt (plus my hometown Detroit’s own 7Greens). Some patrons choose to start with a menu staple and doctor it up, while others elect to start from scratch and build something from the start. The beauty of both of these places is the intersection of inexpensive, fast, and customized. While at Chipotle, I’m more of a “yes, I know the guac costs extra” sort of person. When I go to Subway for lunch, I’m a “turkey, no cheese, all the veggies except onions and olives, with a little bit of light mayo” kind of guy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() While that is the joke, “Daiquiri Girl” is so bad, it’s hard not to imagine that this must be somewhat based in truth. ![]() The premise of “Daiquiri Girl” is that the original idea would have featured that week’s musical guest Gnarls Barkley, but when they bailed, Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg got drunk and made this terrible ‘90s music video, as Samberg sings a terrible song while dressed sort of like an early version of Shy Ronnie. With the first Lonely Island film Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping on the way later this year, let’s take a look at the Digital Shorts from worst to best-all 104 of them. The three primary short creators-Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone-, a comedy rap group that would become almost as popular as the shorts themselves. By the second one, the Digital Short became a huge hit, revitalizing Saturday Night Live and bringing a fresh new style of humor that still resonates long after the show’s shorts creators have moved on. In the span of just a few minutes, the Digital Shorts could get in and get out with a strange, witty idea, without overstaying its welcome-a problem SNL has always had. What started off as just a few of the show’s writers and cast members going off to do their own thing became the most anticipated and beloved segment of the show going into the new millennium, and is often cited as one of the primary reasons Youtube took off. Over the course of a decade, Saturday Night Live’s Digital Shorts became a groundbreaking way to bring sketch comedy to the world in bite-size chunks. ![]() ![]() ![]() The thing Piorek misses the most about News 12 are his coworkers, who he said are like family to him.
